Terms and Conditions of Membership and Event Participation
Association of Australasian Diesel Specialists Inc. (AADS)

1. Agreement and Scope
These Terms and Conditions constitute a binding agreement between the Association of Australasian Diesel Specialists Inc. (AADS) (Inc – 0020431) of Level 3, 33–35 Atchison Street, St Leonards NSW 2065 and you (“Participant”). By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you are registering for membership of AADS or to attend an event hosted by AADS, and all fees associated with your participation are payable in full in accordance with AADS’s payment terms.
2. Registration and Confirmation
Upon completing your registration, a confirmation email will be sent to your nominated address. Please review your details carefully. If an error has been made, you must contact AADS within 24 hours via email or phone (+61 2 9431 8685) to amend or withdraw your registration. If you do not contact AADS within this time, a cancellation fee may apply.
3. Payment Terms
Payment of registration fees and any selected add-ons is due upon completion of registration. A tax invoice will be issued via email with confirmation. All fees must be paid prior to the commencement of the event to ensure admission, unless prior arrangements have been made in writing.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
If you are unable to attend an event for which you are registered, you must notify AADS no later than 30 days before the event start date. A cancellation fee of $100.00 will apply. Cancellations made within 30 days of the event start date are non-refundable.
Refunds are not available for a change of mind. However, if your circumstances change, please contact AADS immediately via email or phone to discuss your situation. Refunds will be processed within 7 business days of an approved request and credited to the same method of payment used.
If AADS cancels or postpones an event due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be offered or the registration transferred to the rescheduled date within 90 days.
5. Credit Card and Payment Security
AADS accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Credit card details entered via the registration portal are processed securely by AADS’s authorised payment gateway. Credit card details are not stored by AADS.
For international transactions, additional verification such as copies of identification or credit card details may be required to prevent fraud. All credit card information is handled in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
6. Privacy
AADS respects your privacy. Personal information is handled in accordance with AADS’s Privacy Policy, available at www.aads.com.au/privacy. By registering, you consent to AADS using your information for the purpose of administering your membership or event participation.
7. Force Majeure
AADS is not liable for any delay, change, or cancellation caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, strikes, or technical failures. In such cases, AADS will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the event or provide a refund.
8. Communication and Notices
AADS may communicate with you via email or phone. You agree that such communication is contractually binding in the same way as signed documentation sent by post.
9. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute arising from or related to these Terms, you agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through good faith discussions or mediation before commencing arbitration or litigation.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any legal proceedings must be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction.
11. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies available to you under the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)).
12. Acceptance of Terms
By ticking “I agree” or proceeding with registration through the online portal or any form provided by AADS, you are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions in full.
